Alison Shimoda, MA, LPC

Do you feel like you’ve lost touch with who you are - the values, purpose, and passions that once guided you?

Maybe you’ve been carrying grief that feels heavy and unrelenting. Or perhaps you’re in the middle of a major life transition, and even though you’re “handling it,” you can feel the strain emotionally, mentally, and physically.

A young woman with long brown hair stands smiling facing the camera wearing a blue sweater in front of some leafy branches.

You don’t have to navigate these changes alone.

I strive to create a space where adult individuals can reconnect with themselves. In therapy, we can explore what truly matters, unpack long-held beliefs, and move toward a life that feels more meaningful and authentic. My clients often describe our work together as grounded, collaborative, and deeply reflective.

Healing isn’t linear. Some days you’ll feel strong and others you may feel uncertain. My role is to meet you in both spaces. I hold space for your complexity while helping you to find clarity and confidence within the nuance.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), existential approaches, and a foundation of cultural humility. Together, we’ll explore your values, the patterns shaping your relationships, and the meaning you want to create in your life.

I believe we are all capable of growth, connection, and transformation. Therapy can be a place where you return to yourself with compassion, curiosity, and courage. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming and inclusive of all cultural and intersectional identities.

If you’re ready to begin (or return to) therapy and want a space where empathy and authenticity are at the heart of the process, I invite you to reach out.
