Saturday Spotlight: Lacey Fivecoat, LCSW

Who I Work With

I work primarily with individuals who are navigating:

  • Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Relationship Challenges, Identity Concerns, Stress, Grief, and Major Life Transitions

  • I work with adults and teens, and I have experience supporting clients who are navigating neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ individuals figuring things out, and chronic stress.

I have specialized training and experience in:

  • DBT. CBT, Mindfulness, trauma-informed care, emotion regulation, and working with individuals who struggle with self-worth, boundaries, and interpersonal stress. I will also be receiving EMDR training this year.

  • My work is trauma-informed, relational, and attachment-based, with attention to how past experiences continue to shape present-day patterns.

My goal is to help clients feel understood, respected, and supported, especially when they’ve felt unseen or misunderstood in the past.

My Approach to Therapy

My therapeutic approach is best described as:

  • Collaborative, flexible, and grounded.

  • I work from a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and attachment-focused lens.

  • I also integrate practical skills when helpful.

In our work together, I focus on:

  • Building safety and trust first

  • Honoring your pace and boundaries

  • Helping you make sense of your experiences without judgment and from a place of caring and curiosity

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a partnership rather than something being “done” to you.

What It’s Like to Work With Me

Clients often describe sessions with me as:

  • Warm, grounding, validating, thoughtful, and practical.

In our sessions, you can expect:

  • Space to explore what’s coming up for you

  • Gentle guidance when things feel stuck or overwhelming

  • A balance of insight and practical tools when helpful

  • No pressure to talk about anything before you’re ready

You are always in control of what we focus on. Your comfort and consent matter.

What I Value Most in the Therapy Space

I deeply value:

  • Emotional safety and consent

  • Authenticity and curiosity

  • Cultural humility and respect for your lived experience

I believe healing happens in relationships where you feel believed, supported, and empowered to be fully yourself.

A Little More About Me

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy:

  • Spending time outdoors with my family, being with animals, quiet moments to recharge, and activities that help me stay grounded and present. I enjoy reading and going to the gym in my free time.

These parts of me shape how I show up as a therapist: present, curious, compassionate, and human.
